John M. Frangos passed away of natural causes on November 29, at the age of 91. A long time resident of Garden City, New York, Captain John was born in Kardamyla, Chios in Greece on January 15, 1929. He was a member of the US Merchant Marines from 1958 - 1985. He is survived by his two daughters, his wife Despina having predeceased him in 2011. He was the devoted father of Irene & husband Dimitrios Drivas and Tina & husband Robert DiMino, a proud and loving Grandfather of Theo(Cristina) & Ianni(Stephanie) Drivas, John, Gloria(Chris Brownell) & Dessie DiMino and an adoring Great-Grandfather to Baby Rena. He was a long-standing member of the American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association (AHEPA).
